{"id":268,"date":"2008-05-22T13:45:17","date_gmt":"2008-05-22T18:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glendathegood.com\/blog\/?p=268"},"modified":"2008-05-22T16:55:29","modified_gmt":"2008-05-22T21:55:29","slug":"20-years-of-think-different","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.glendathegood.com\/blog\/20-years-of-think-different\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Years of &#8220;Think Different&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"imgdeco\"><img src=\"\/images\/think-earhart.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Do you remember 1998?  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bronco&#8217;s won the Super Bowl.<\/li>\n<li>The first XML spec was released.<\/li>\n<li>Titantic won 11 Oscars.<\/li>\n<li>Viagra was approved by the FDA.<\/li>\n<li>Google, Inc. was founded.<\/li>\n<li>Apple unveiled the iMac and reminded us to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Think_Different\">Think Different<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Today, as I was rearranging some books on a shelf, I ran across the limited edition publication to commemorate the first year of the Apple <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Think_Different\">Think Different<\/a> Series, &#8220;1998:  The Year of Thinking Different&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p>10 years later, this ad campaign still strikes a chord in my soul.  I can&#8217;t resist sharing this quote from Apple with you.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s to the crazy ones.<br \/>\n     The misfits.<br \/>\n          The rebels.<br \/>\n               The troublemakers.<br \/>\n                    The round pegs in the square holes.<\/p>\n<p>The ones who see things differently.<\/p>\n<p>They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not fond of rules.<br \/>\n     And they have no respect for the status quo.<\/p>\n<p>You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,<br \/>\n    disbelieve them, glorify them or vilify them.<br \/>\nAbout the only thing you can&#8217;t do is ignore them.<\/p>\n<p>Because they change things.<br \/>\n     They invent.     They imagine.     They heal.<br \/>\n     They explore.   They create.       They inspire.<br \/>\nThey push the human race forward.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe they have to be crazy.<br \/>\nHow else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?<br \/>\n     Or sit in silence and hear a song that&#8217;s never been written?<br \/>\nOr gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?<\/p>\n<p>We make tools for these kinds of people.<br \/>\nWhile some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.<br \/>\nBecause the people who are crazy enough to think<br \/>\nthey can change the world, are the ones who do.<\/p>\n<p>Think Different.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, my friends, I implore you to question, lead, create, sing, speak, tinker, dance, play, love, fly, believe, transform, improvise, evolve, laugh and dream with all of your passion.
